About the Studio B InnovateHER 2017 Competition
The U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) is currently holding its 3rd annual business challenge — InnovateHER 2017. This competition helps identify innovative products and services with commercial potential that impact the lives of women and/or families. The national InnovateHER Challenge is underwritten by the Spanx by Sara Blakely Foundation.
The SBA partners with local resources and has selected Studio B Creative Exchange to host a 2017 InnovateHER Indianapolis competition.
One local finalist will be selected by a panel of judges and audience in the Studio B competition on June 3, 2017 based on a 5min pitch describing their product/service/idea meeting the Challenge criteria and presenting the greatest potential for success. The Challenge criteria are:
- Fills a need in the marketplace
- Potential for commercialization
- Impact on the lives of women and families
The local finalist will receive additional feedback and support in preparing her submission materials for the national SBA competition and for continued business growth at large from various partners. The SBA will review all local finalists and select up to 10 semifinalists for the national competition. The 10 semifinalists will compete in Washington, DC in September for over $70,00 in prizes.
The deadline for local entries is June 1 at 11:59pmest. Participants will be confirmed by noon on June 2.
